The Art of Working with Purpose: Guido D. and Animation

Guido is an inspiration for those who look to freelancing not just as a way to work, but as a way to connect with meaningful projects, explore creativity and live with purpose.

Guido D. is an Argentinean animator and filmmaker with more than ten years of experience in the audiovisual industry. Born in Buenos Aires, Guido has dedicated his career to character animation and project management, collaborating with renowned brands such as KFC, Corona, Facebook, Johnson & Johnson, Mercado Pago, and more. His focus is on projects that allow him to contribute from the script and narrative, enjoying the creative process to the fullest.

With an outstanding talent in character design, special effects and 3D animation, Guido has built a solid reputation in advertising, film and art. But beyond his impressive portfolio, Guido is an advocate of freelancing as a way of life that allows him to manage his time, choose his projects and collaborate with various studios.

Why did you decide to become a freelancer?

I decided to become a freelancer because I wanted to be able to manage my time, choose which jobs to take and have the possibility to work with different studios. I am interested in knowing their processes, collaborating with different people and understanding how they work. I like the diversity and freedom that freelancing offers.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

What I like most is that, at times, it doesn't feel like work. It's something I really enjoy, it's fun to do, and the time flies by when I'm creating. Plus, I love that people see and share what I do; that's incredibly stimulating.

What advice would you give to someone starting out as a freelancer?

I believe that this job cannot be structured in a rigid schedule. The best thing to do is to make the most of the moments of concentration, even if that means working late. I also learned that more time in front of the computer does not always mean more productivity. It is essential to rest and recharge your batteries because, when you are fresh, you work much better.

What do you like most about Findie?

The best thing about Findie for me is that I can receive proposals without having to constantly look for them. That's a great advantage, as it allows me to concentrate on my creative work while the opportunities come in.

Let's talk about your project, L'usine des perversions. What is it about?

It's a project I'm very passionate about. The story is set in the ruins of a country that used to be developed but is now devastated by a long war conflict. A group of workers work in a factory where routine does not quench their desires. These are unleashed in a risky environment, under the omniscient gaze of the Usina, a gigantic machine that feeds on human desire. It is a narrative with a lot of meaning and a visual proposal that excites me deeply.

Guido's trajectory is a testimony of how freelancing can become a path of personal and professional fulfillment. His focus on creativity, flexibility and enjoyment of the creative process has made him a reference for the creative community. With skills ranging from character design to motion design, he continues to explore new ways to tell stories and collaborate on innovative projects.

At Findie, you can learn more about his amazing work and hire him to take your business to the next level with unique creative proposals.
